Growing up, Mike was surrounded by non-Latinos and really didn't embrace his culture until high school. Here, he discovered his Latin roots, leading him to explore opportunities in adulthood as a Latino art promoter and business owner, a professional photographer, and a member of a lowrider car club. Michael's interest in car culture is especially unique in Atlanta because lowriding hasn't boomed there as it has on the west coast.
"Lowriding isn't just for gangsters. It's for anyone in the community," says Mike. "It is a very positive part of Latino culture and a way for kids to express themselves." Michael's club not only aces at creating custom cars, but in reaching out to the community with fundraisers for groups like Toys for Tots.
