Name: Talisha
Age: 21
Why she's cool: Latina Sorority Member / Step Club
Where her family is from: Spain, Germany and Native America
Where she lives: Parker, CO
Even though Talisha grew up around non-Latinos, she found a way to embrace her heritage by joining a Latina sorority in college. Talisha also joined the Latino Step Dance Club, a group that revamps classic stepping by adding salsa and Latino moves to the formula. Additionally, Talisha contributes to her culture by encouraging teens to attend college as a member of the National Council of La Raza.
Going hand in hand with her passion for dance, Talisha has a strong love of music. Her appreciation for this art form was passed down by her family. Talisha's family members all either sing or play instruments; from time to time you might find five generations gathered together to sing!

Y tu, La Secta, what are you proud of?
Latino pride is about celebrating and connecting with others through our Latino heritage. For us, an important part of this heritage is our obsessive love for music and dance. However, when you're in a rock band it's hard to incorporate the two. With our video Llora mi corazón we were able to accomplish this.

Love the stomping! Way to make it our own.
